Creativity is no longer creative

Inside the car, i heard the filipino umbrella version.
(sing the "umbrella ella ella e e" part here)
" di na, di na, hindi, hindi"
To be frank, our creativity is significantly deteriorating.
It all started as a telenovela,
which then grew into game shows,
which then turned to the music industry.

it IS true

some words are really ment to be unsaid. But what would you do if it was said? =)

it's too long to summarize it

i had a long day today. why long? it was wild, despite i didn't attend the frosh party. why i didn't attend the party? I don't drink. And i will setup myself a barrier from it. anyway, we had a free cut in intglos. weeee =) cy and i talked in the conservatory, a serious one. did our presentation at biotech. they made my face a dummy. i had eyeliner awhile ago. haha. after the class, i invited stef to CCC. CCC is campus crusade for Christ, a Christian group. ta-da! i found one! haha! thanks jj hia and achi lynette! =) 6pm. I accompanied stef to SPS 505. i saw the lsdc-street room, it made me want to join! =( haha. anyway, most auditioners(?) are froshies, and i saw pride in their eyes. oh well. get mad at me if you want to, it just shows how offended you are. Sing it for the Lord, stef!

three cases, three conclusions(?).

case 1: you tied the balloon too tight. you accidentally dropped a heavy object above it. the object made it pop.

case 2: you tied the balloon not too tight, yet not too loose. you accidentally dropped a heavy object above it. the object bounced back.

case 3: you tied the balloon too loose. you accidentally dropped a heavy object above it. the object flattened it.

past condition: case 3
present condition: case 1

"ulul" is a swear word

it rained hard, and i was still in the jeepney. in the spur of the moment, the jeepney went down near the blumentritt LRT station. it had a flat tire. everyone was retreating. i primarily had the thought that they were going to wait for the repair, but they weren't. so i had to get my money back and ride another jeep. it was my first time to experience a heavy rain with damp shoes. darn. i was wearing my chucks. i had an umbrella, but i was also holding onto sen's pillow. (p.s. my mom reprimanded me about it. she asked why i took it. i could not say the "reason", so i told her that you just had to give it to me). blumentritt was flooded with dark water and some bare chested street people enjoying their free shower. so, i rode the 'retiro' jeep route. at first, i thought that i was stranded, since i couldn't find any 'retiro' jeep route under the LRT railway. i decided to ride a jeep near the market. i found one. i rode it. it was a bloody trip, but it all went well. Im praising God for His mercy. here's what i learned from it:
1. troubles will come. it may intensify. it may even hurt you. it may float you away from your destination. but troubles will end. there will always be the beginning and the end.
2. parents may teach you what to do, but you need to need to learn it on your own, even if it takes to do it without them.
3. theories will never be facts without experiments.
4. confidence is earned, not bought.

a phantasmagorical journey.

i do not write well... i think. people around me kept on insisting that i write english so... magical. hahaha.

they say: you write well
i say: you just don't know what a pickle is.

they say: you're smart
i say: you haven't seen the clumsy side of me. (it's related to my 2nd day LPEP)

humility plays an important part for me. it's the quintessence that keeps me quirky. it's my serendipity. a sudden pride will slide me down to zero.

.

The image “http://www.fortuneart.net/simondewey/InHumility.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Figure 1.1 Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. a sign of humility for the humanity. But the most humblest act that He did was His death for us. Seriously, we don't deserve His salvation. It's His LOVE for us that saved us. I love you Lord! Thanks, by the way =)

the first "firsts"

my first accident: i bumped the post, and i was facing it. i was walking without looking the way. it serves as a lesson for me. haha.

trivia: krista also bumped the post. she was my Lasallian ambassador, or also known as LAmb. Lambs are your facilitator/tour guide/friend in the university.

my lambs: phoebe(she told me that i was noisy. huhu) and krista ( she told me that i look like a kid!)

what my lambs call me:

Pilsbury! Haha! Ü Krista kept on pinching my cheeks. awww... im still cute! =p

some additional friends: ria, rhia, rina, chelsea, dana.

animo building program: it was more of a concert. the LSDC street rocks, though i didn't like how they dress. it must be the high school's brainwashing power that has affected me.haha. but i really appreciate it, since im able to block myself from "what's not". God's power. =)

handbook: proselytizing is not allowed. a weird rule, but it's the reality. Scissors are also banned, unless you have secured a permit.

stess: high. slept at 2.30am and woke at 5.45am.

social network: despite the outside connections, i would still consider it as a weak one.

fashion: found what clothes i look good with. if i wear it, it wouldn't be the old chioa that you knew.

faith: im under the care of God's faithful hand. The only thing that i have to deal with is my urge to talk to the brothers. i love talking to Godly people. it's not wrong, but a conversion may take place.

God: the nicene creed is the doctrine of my faith.

The Nicene Creed 1

We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

where i didnt enjoyed: the campus tour. sounds weird, but i already know the whole campus. awww. haha. i daydreamed in the UL. =p wahahaha, it's the product of boredom.

who did i meet: yours truly, my fellow schoolmates, rina, chelsea(?), kyle, lau, bj, anton, pj, kael, etc. darn, i really forgot the others. hahahaha. at that time, i wanted to forget it. peash! =p

it's another iridescent title

tom's my lpep, a.k.a. lasallian personal effectiveness program. long name. haha. i think(yes, think. my idea's not whole) im excited to meet some people. those people are the higher batches that i've met in the net.(the internet changes the identity).

okay, enough INTGLOS talk. what will i expect tomorrow? 1.) fellow hs friends( as of now, arthur, roselyn, hans, cyrin, grace, and stefi are the CLA people that I now) 2.) new friends, rather than the HS friends. the list is short. but the list will be long if changed the 'tomorrow' to 'from DLSU'.

The power of a timid prayer by max lucado

If you struggle with prayer, I've got just the guy for you.

The father's prayer isn't much, but the answer is and the result reminds us:

The power is not in the prayer; it's in the one who hears it.

He prayed out of desperation. His son, his only son, was demon- possessed.

Not only was he a deaf mute and an epileptic, he was also possessed by an evil spirit.

Ever since the boy was young, the demon had thrown him into fires and water.

The father had to remain on call, on alert twenty-four hours a day.

He was desperate and tired, and his prayer reflects both.

"If you can do anything for him, please have pity on us and help us."

Listen to that prayer.

Does it sound courageous? Confident? Strong?

Hardly.

If his prayer sounds like yours, then don't be discouraged, for that's where prayer begins.

It begins as a yearning.

An honest appeal.

No pretense.

No boasting.

No posturing.

Just prayer.

Feeble prayer, but prayer nonetheless.

We are tempted to wait to pray until we know how to pray.

Good thing this man didn't make the same mistake.

He wasn't much of a pray-er.

And his wasn't much of a prayer.

He even admits it! "I do believe," he implored.

"Help me to believe more" (see Mark 9:24).

This prayer isn't destined for a worship manual.

No Psalm will result from his utterance.

His was simple-no incantation or chant.

But Jesus responded.

He responded, not to the eloquence of the man, but to the pain of the man.

> This is comforting =)

a cup of sugar

so, the jeepney drivers had a transport strike. i did not dare to wake up for my classes, since there was a strike. besides, my summer class is about to end anyway, in may 16. weee! haha! tho that'll be the last time that i'll be with chinese people. speaking of which, im going to talk about my chinese name.

曾達綿
曾:是父親姓氏. My grangran came from Macau, which makes me a Cantonese.(darn citizenship. juis sanggini, i think) 哈哈哈! I might have a Portuguese blood in me! 但是澳門會小阿! Nevertheless, at least I've a foreign blood in me! Weee!!

達: 聰明.

綿: 絲.哈哈哈! 這個名字是女生用.但是在我的時間,女生名用來在男生名是著名 .喜愛阿!
For those people who couldn't read Chinese, peash! (Especially the dlsu people) At least I made the 曾 part english. =p
Anyway, try solving these math problems mentally under 20 seconds:
987654321 + 123456789=? (this one's easy)
7957846 - 5262456=? (easy too, i think)
97641 * 79462=? (um, i think i'll pass)
791316 / 89 = ? ( i really need it)
If you can't solve it under 20 sec. mentally, I recommend you to learn abacus, an ancient device used worldwide. You'll see the results.hahaha!Im the endorser of the abacus! =p Weee! I love ditching my abacus classes!

tagged by charlene, irene, sharmelle, princess, etc. etc.

Hey, this will be my last blog chain. O_o

Share 8 things that your readers don’t know about you.
Then at the end you tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.
– Each blogger must post these rules first.
– Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
– Bloggers who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules
– At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
– Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I once owned a pet rabbit. But they "released" it since my mom was carrying my little brother.
2. I am scared of dragonflies.
3. I love to be inside in SSP. Somehow, it comforts me =)
4. I tripped in the hallway 2 times (High School Life)
5. I do not watch local telenovelas, since I criticize the shows a lot, and they're nasty criticisms.
6. I talk in English when I'm mad. But the english is horrid, in terms of choice of words. Q: have you seen me throw a tantrum? A: no, not YET.
7. I know how to play the trumpet(from the marching band), piano(on my own), and the recorder(on my own).
8. I was once an introvert. =)

Me dont wanna do the chain =p but you can use my name if you want to.

spin it around

i went back to dlsu, again. And once again, I ran into people, more than 3 people that i know, to be exact. At first, i thought that i was alone. but suddenly, they showed up one by one. once again, i saw roselyn. spencer came next. cyrin jumped. grace danced all the way, and krizelle hurriedly ran. I also ran into dianne(denice's sis) and her friend(i do not know what's her name, but she's healthy! peash!)

after the dlsu trip, i went to school(sshs) to meet up with berns. i was supposed to go to SM awhile ago, but i forgot to leave. weird reason,eh? at the school, i ran into arthur and kirby. weird life. kirby was talking about the people who enrolled in csb. they were also told to remove their undergarments DAW. hahaha! at least dlsu's not that "brotherly".

i also made friends from dlsu, not in the campus, but by net. hahaha! at least ive now got some connections ==)

one more thing

Magkakaruon ulit kami ng 2nd home, sa likod lang ng home namin. In short, parang extension na rn siya sa 1st home namin, since maglalagay daw cla ng tagusan. Nice! =) Pero nakakapagod sobra kapag malaki sobra home mu =( at least magkakaruon na kme ng guest rooms and a penthouse. Weeee! Sleepover!

speaking of which

My abacus skills are getting rusty too. Yesterday, I had a score of 5 out of 10. "Atsi" approached me and asked why was my grade that low. haha.

I'm You (yeah right)

The title's out of topic. haha. i enrolled at DLSU awhile ago. Fact: It's my first time to enroll. It's my mom who enrolls me in my HS days. haha. so much for independence. So, I had to check for my section first. im in block 24. Hans is my blockmate. cool! haha. I also ran into roselyn and arthur. I do not know why, but arthur was much faster than all of us, despite roselyn being the first one to enroll.

My mom panicked about the NSO paper. She said that it was wrong for them to take it. My reaction: k. haha. Hey, it's fine for me, as long as I can get another copy. So, I had to get my the paper from the lady in desk no.2. She told me to surrender a valid I.D. I surrendered my powerbooks card =p hahaha! But she refused it =( too bad, eh? I also had my alumni card at that time. Waah, LPU. So she had to take my EAF again. My mom made me walk outside the school to photocopy it. It was tiring, since before this thing happened, I went in and out of the room 8 times, I think. I had to know my id number, borrow a pen from my mom, and get the NSO paper. Yeah, the reasons are short, but it's true.

After that incident, I passed my NSTP form. I chose CWTS, no questions asked. Im not physically and spiritually fit to enter ROTC. I do not love my country , and Im chubby. Besides, I wouldnt dare them to take away my baby charm. The lady in military uniform told me that 70% of the ROTC takers are female. Once again, I didn't give a damn.haha. I took my flow chart and went to the accounting office.

Darn, my english is getting rusty.

It was a long wait. 30 minutes, to be exact. I took my cellphone from my pants and texted bill about "polo shirt". I do not know what is a polo shirt. Shame on me. He also couldn't explain it clearly. So I told him that "I'll search it in the net nalang". I also saw Ian, an affliate of mine. He's a prof. I dunno what he's doing there, but he has a right, unlike me.

So, for that day, I was finished. But I have to go back tom, since I have not yet my took my picture taking and the physical examination. Btw, yung physical examination daw, huhubaran ka daw tlga to the max, as in, wlang undergarment. o_O

I'm block 24! Pm me if same block tayo, strangers!

Monday, May 5, 2008

Weee! Im back!

Well, here I am, in my motherland. Haha! =p i cant tell you what happened, as of now. I've got a lot of things to do =)

Love of the Philippines

A nice message. To tell to the truth, I also hate my country. =) p.s. please highlight it if you're going to read it. For some reason, the font color won't change.

Please pass it to all Filipinos you know.

The message goes:
As you know, we have plenty of Koreans currently studying in the Philippines to take advantage of our cheaper tuition fees and learn English at the same time.

This is an essay written by a Korean student i want to share with you. (Never mind the grammar;
it's the CONTENT that counts.) Maybe it is timely to think about this in the midst of all the confusion
at present.

MY SHORT ESSAY ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES

Jaeyoun Kim

Filipinos always complain about the corruption in
the Philippines . Do you really think the corruption is the problem of the Philippines ? I do not think so. I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for the Philippines.

Let me first talk about my country, Korea . It might help you understand my point. After the Korean War, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world. Koreans had to start from scratch because entire country was destroyed after the Korean War, and we had no natural resources.

Koreans used to talk about the Philippines , for
Filipinos were very rich in Asia . We envy Filipinos. Koreans really wanted to be well off like Filipinos. Many Koreans died of famine. My father & brother also died because of famine. Korean government was very corrupt and is still very corrupt beyond your imagination, but Korea was able to develop dramatically because Koreans really did their best for the common good with their heart
burning with patriotism.

Koreans did not work just for themselves but also
for their neighborhood and country. Education inspired young
men with the spirit of patriotism.

40 years ago, President Park took over the
government to reform Korea . He tried to borrow money from other countries, but it was not possible to get a loan and attract a foreign investment because the economic situation of South Korea was so bad. Korea had only three factories. So, President Park sent many mine workers and nurses to Germany so that they could send money to Korea to build a factory.
They had to go through horrible experience.

In 1964, President Park visited Germany to borrow
money. Hundred of Koreans in Germany came to the airport to welcome him and cried there as they saw the President Park . They asked to him, 'President, when can we be well off?' That was the only question everyone asked to him. President Park cried with them and promised them that Korea would be well off if everyone works hard for Korea , and the President of Germany got the strong impression on them and lent money to Korea . So, President Park was
able to build many factories in Korea . He always asked Koreans to love their country from their heart.

Many Korean scientists and engineers in the USA
came back to Korea to help developing country because they wanted their country to be well off. Though they received very small salary, they did their
best for Korea . They always hoped that their children would live in well off country.

My parents always brought me to the places where
poor and physically handicapped people live. They wanted me to understand their life and help them. I also worked for Catholic Church when I was in the army. The only thing I learned from Catholic Church was that we have to love our neighborhood. And, I have loved my neighborhood. Have you cried for the Philippines? I have cried for my country several times. I also cried for the Philippines because of so many poor people. I have been to the New Bilibid prison. What made me sad in the prison were the prisoners who do not have any love for their country. They go to mass and work for Church. They pray
everyday.

However, they do not love the Philippines . I
talked to two prisoners at the maximum-security compound, and both of them said that they would leave the Philippines right after they are released from the
prison. They said that they would start a new life in other countries and never come back to the Philippines .

Many Koreans have a great love for Korea so that
we were able to share our wealth with our neighborhood. The owners of factory and company were distributed their profit to their employees fairly so that employees could buy what they needed and saved money for the
future and their children.

When I was in Korea , I had a very strong faith and
wanted to be a priest. However, when I came to the Philippines , I completely lost my faith. I was very confused when I saw many unbelievable situations in the Philippines . Street kids always make me sad, and I see them everyday. The Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia , but there are too many poor people here. People go to church every Sunday to pray, but nothing has
been changed.

My parents came to the Philippines last week and
saw this situation. They told me that Korea was much poorer than the present Philippines when they were young. They are so sorry that there are so many beggars and street kids. When we went to Pasangjan, I forced my parents to take a boat because it would fun. However, they were not happy after taking a boat. They said that they would not take the boat a gain because they were sympathized the boatmen, for the boatmen were very poor and had a small frame. Most of people just took a boat and enjoyed it. But, my parents did not enjoy it because of love
for them.

My mother who has been working for Catholic Church
since I was very young told me that if we just go to mass without changing ourselves, we are not Catholic indeed. Faith should come with action. She added that I have to love Filipinos and do good things for them because all of us are same and have received a great love from God. I want Filipinos to love their neighborhood and country as much as they love God
so that the Philippines will be well off.

I am sure that love is the keyword, which Filipinos
should remember. We cannot change the sinful structure at once. It should start from person. Love must start in everybody, in a small scale and have to grow. A lot of things happen if we open up to love. Let's put away
our prejudices and look at our worries with our new eyes.

I discover that every person is worthy to be
loved. Trust in love, because it makes changes possible. Love changes you and me. It changes people, contexts and relationships. It changes the world. Please love your
neighborhood and country.

Jesus Christ said that whatever we do to others we
do to Him. In the Philippines , there is God for people who are abused and abandoned. There is God who is crying for love. If you have a child, teach them how to love the Philippines . Teach them why they have to love their neighborhood and country.
You already know that God also will be very happy if you love others.

That's all I really want to ask you Filipinos.

FOR THE LOVE OF OUR COUNTRY PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE...

A whole new teeth(not really, it's only fixed)

Yesterday, I discovered cavities in my teeth. And awhile ago, I went to my dentist to "fix" my teeth. Apparently, I had 3 holes in my teeth. Tres. Darn cavities. I shouldn't have ate the whole 400g chocolate bar in 3 days. =(
